Purpose

   To educate the young generation in the spirit of sustainable development, by means of democratic participation and environmental education.

Main activities

• Organization of 6 environmental days in high school (2 days of water protection, 2 days of air pollution and 2 days of waste management)
• Development of study on environmental education in the school curricula in Moldova and presentation of results to the Ministry of Education
• Distribution of flyers throughout high school on air and water pollution and waste management
• Writing articles about the activities and results of Eco-School project which were disseminated to local media.

Results

• Eco-School Council created and monthly meetings organized
• Practical activities held (Planting campaign, collection of paper for recycling in school and installing trash bins for paper in all the classes of school, contests on best painting in the field of water protection held)
• Three booklets on water protection (two issues), air pollution (2 issues) and waste management (2 issues) published and disseminated in school;
• Survey held among students in school on buying a good quality drinking water
• Assessment Report on promotion of environmental education in the Republic of Moldova developed and presented to the Ministry of Education.
